The space

18th-century palace house on Calle Bolsa, downstairs was the Reloj Warehouse, whose property was owned by León de Argüeso. The first documented date, which we have been able to locate, referring to León de Argüeso in Sanlúcar is 1831, in which year it acquires half of a house-lining house located on Calle de las Cruces, where a refining and grocery store called “Store of the Clock” was operated since ancient times, on a sun clock located on the building’s facade. In this house Argüeso you will start your business journey at thirty years old. Some years later, between 1845 and 1847, Leon de Argüeso would be made with the other half of the estate. This building was bordered, on Calle de las Cruces, with another house that had been owned by the convent of Dominicas de Madre de Dios, which was also purchased by Argüeso in 1856, as a product of Ecclesiastical breakdown, leaving both properties unified on one property. In this house, Leon de Argüeso will live the rest of his life, next to his three nephews, the warehouse dependents and the servants. This first commercial and residential establishment became the heart of its businesses, from where the entrepreneur led all his economic activities.
